Block

A block definition consists of a list of trials which should be executed either in fixed or random order. If trials have variable arguments, their value must be specified when listing the trial in the block definition. These values will be added to the result file to document what trial did run with what values. Often those values represent your independent variables

At the session level, a block can be executed in multiples of the minimal block length to repeat the same trial specification. If executed as warm-up trials you may also run a partial subset of a block definition.

Block execution may further be modified at the session level by setting a maximum time or maximum error rate as end criteria. You can also run blocks in dropout mode which automatically repeats erroneous trials until all trials are answered correctly.

You can list reference different trial definition within the same block to mix trials that are structurally different, for example presenting a picture in one trial and a tone in another trial.
